My Best Buy mail in Subaru WRX actually showed up today! Because I never received an "out for delivery" notice, even though it was marked as such, I expected it tomorrow. My Kroger mail in car is still marked in the wrong city with Friday as the new delivery day... Only time will tell, the dark side of collecting continues...

My 2 ground shipments that are beating the 2 Day package are now divorced... They both arrived in the hub where my packages are sorted for delivery and 1 was sent about 100 miles away to yet another hub...
Out of 3 shipments, I might get 1 today...
Each FedEx package requires hours of attention, then when things are awry, more time is consumed in dealing with a shit show circus, acting as a delivery outfit. Yesterday I spent 3 hours on the 2 Day package that has taken 6 days to arrive, today I can add 1 hour to that. The ground shipment now 100 miles away, had 45 minutes devoted to its existence.
Depending on the days events, I will consider saying f-it to the RLC and mail in cars next year, buying off eBay is more expensive, however 99% of those purchases come via USPS and I can autopilot those deliveries and only have to battle the mail box thieves. Stressing over deliveries has gotten old, fast...
I was a shipper for many years at 2 motorcycle shops and currently running 2 online stores and I ship frequently. FedEx encounters disasters that no other shipping company experiences or is able to work through. If there is an excuse to delay your package, FedEx will have it ready. I made a Mattel Creations purchase a couple of months back and the shipping was f-ed up and I was stuck paying for FedEx 2 day shipping...
They are 3 days late at this point and no scheduled delivery date available. FedEx is shit, period... Checking on 2 other FedEx deliveries and the ground shipments are just as screwed up. A package shipped 2 days after another will arrive first. Of course...
I got a notification that my package was in fact out for delivery around 11AM... 3PM now...
I pretty much sit by the front door when I know I have to deal with the clowns of FedEx and when I saw this alert, I lit up like a Christmas tree in July with 1 match... When the FedEx person on the phone told me the driver claims that my address is unsuitable for delivery, I went stage 3 rocket...
So I check on my 2 FedEx ground shipments, they are due tomorrow, both in the same facility. Ground VS 2 Day FedEx... Who will win? It is worth noting that both of the ground shipments were picked up by FedEx before the 2 Day package, by 1 and 2 days...
Needless to say I am hanging out all day waiting... The box better be pristine and not molested...

Some collectors find themselves in possession of un-finished or non-riveted cars and some castings look normal, until you pick them up. Others like the Datsun 510 Wagon look like a gasser minus the engine and some, like this '71 Porsche 911 Mail In car, have a huge gap between the body and base, the airspace is annoying on display. You can fill the space and give it a modded look. But if you want the HW OEM look, what to do? And how?
Staring at mine for a day or 3 I came to surmise that a tiny o-ring should do the trick and set about finding the proper item. Not easy to find and eyeglass repair kits scarce. Keeping this in the back of my mind and not dwelling on it, I stuck the Porsche in it's temporary storage display and carried on. Then one day while researching Teak Tuning Pro-Quality Fingerboard Products, I spied a truck tuning kit with small o-rings. The smallest appeared to be too small while the larger of the 2 looked like a possible fit. The kit includes 4 washers and 4 o-rings in 2 different sizes each.
I received my kit today and most of the time on painted cars, one of the rivets might be bare and the other painted. The largest o-ring is the only choice as the smaller one is far too tiny. The o-ring went on the bare rivet with direct pressure, like a boss while the painted rivet took more work to fit on. Both fit perfectly and most importantly, work! 2 o-rings definitely work as intended and now you have extra parts left over... Added them to the modeling parts stash, the smallest size washer might even work as a steering wheel on a project car.
The look is up-tight and for how it sits when finished, guessing on this, I should have been in Vegas... Info below if you think this will help you in a situation similar to mine.
