Yesterday while hunting I scored a 2018 Mystery Series 4 Bone Shaker Gold car and a #3 Silver car, as well as a Zamac Custom '67 Pontiac Firebird from a 2017 Q case. Walgreens lately has been helping out my collection and a local Dollar Tree for the 2017 cars...

Revenge Of Collectors Day

The December Collectors day was a bit of a let down but that is part of collecting. So imagine the smile on my face when I found 2 B cases on a cart at Walmart this morning. Both had been opened, both missing a car or 2, not sure as to which ones, but I did manage a Treasure Hunt out of each case and no luck on a Super T-Hunt this time around.




*At this time I am using a laptop that has no editing tools or Photoshop, so editing pics and vid are not easy to do until my workhorse rig is fixed. This video reflects my cheapness and raw attitude.

To The Batcave

I was on a mission for work today and had 10 minutes to burn, so I ditched into a Walgreens that was not only close by, but on the way as well. The very first lady I see who was not with a customer or stocking a shelf I ask if they have any Hot Wheels and she says I am bringing them out now, which she was pushing a cart with a Q case end cap. I stalk her to the location she was tending to and after 2 minutes I was hunting. At the near bottom was a P case Batmobile Treasure Hunt. I have seen this happen before on one of those YouTube guys channels who does the case unboxing's. There was at least one other P case car, the VW T2 truck, the rest I already had and off I went with my score...

New Shoes

I plan on modifying my Momo 510 Bluebird with some chrome 5 spoke wheels and screw-rivet conversion. I will get pictures and the full story soon, if these turn out nice I will get more for a couple cars that will go in my display case.

Post Halloween Arrival

I built a small collection of 510 wagons recently, one of the few cars Hot Wheels makes that I once owned. As a teenager in a punk band during the early 80's, I needed a car to haul my gear and the 510 was perfect for my needs. My Earth cabinet fit on its side in the back with the seat up and the brain sat on the rear seat with drum parts and a human. After scoring a couple 510's at my favorite hunting spot, I grabbed the normal mainline editions and 1 convention car off EBay, this will round out my 510 wagon collection for now and back to normal activity...

A Hunting I Will Go

I hit up my A spot to hunt and scored a 2019 A case Treasure Hunt and some other mainlines that were hanging out. A new to me VW Drag Bus and some 510's will soon be arriving, so pictures will be next on the list as well as a video.

Still working on the office area, almost ready to get it in gear and do a big fat burnyscratch with smoke and noise.

Kday Haul With Some Help From Walgreens

I scored some good stuffs today at the Kmart Hot Wheels Collector Day event and on the way there I stopped in at Walgreens for some cash, not wanting to waste a hunting moment I strolled over to find 5 '69 Coronet Superbee Walgreens exclusives, I grabbed up the stash and rocked on over to Kmart to get with a group of about 50 collectors who were waiting for the cases to appear.
I think 2 people found the Cruella De Vil Super T-Hunt, more than a few Treasure Hunt Crate Racers were laying about, I grabbed a couple extras along with my haul of 20+ cars, a poster of the Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile mail in offer and I headed home for breakfast and some relaxation. Oh, I paid for the Batmobile shipping and handling too, mailing in the form on Monday!

Mind Your P's & Q's

Went on a quick hunt today and scored cars from the P & Q cases, no Treasures, but some nice designs! After taking a much needed nap, I awoke to a surprise, one very nice Hot Wheels display case with Chevy!

Not sure what Amazon was up to, I had to look at something today that pushed my delivery to Tuesday of next week.

Kind Of Not Hunting

This morning I went on a short hunt but came up short, which is fine because tomorrow my display case arrives. Clearing the space to move my collection into its new location, this display is going to help and add class in one shot.
My office is becoming a museum.

Sometimes Waiting Pays Off

The initial release of Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Display Case with Chevy truck was pretty stupid, with people asking more than double the retail price upon release, now it seems they are available at retail price on Amazon. I have been checking Walmart at 4 locations for 2 months now and if the stores do get them, maybe at Christmas time?
Mine will arrive around the 29th of this month...

My #2 hunt spot finally got in a delivery of cars yesterday it seems and I took that day off hunting, so when I got there today it was just scraps of a P case. I nabbed 5 cars out of that shipment...

Cracked The Case Of Black And Gold - Nuggets Of Joy

I will work on my video later, its lame as hot cottage cheese but that's how I roll, wobbly. I am still without tools for those who do not know and I am 8 bit on resources ATM. For now it is total cheeseball and bad lighting, the office is slowly getting done and then I will be back to a poser-pro set up.
A gold body Camaro Chase car was in the box to cap off this case opening and it is very gold indeed. Cheersss!

Plan 10 From Outer Nowhere

I did my best to stay up and went for a 45 minute nap, hit 2 Wally Worlds in 1 hour and came up empty. Then I really napped...

This Is The Plan...

It is a work night here and I am off around 3 am, home by 3:45, with bed landing around 4 am. Tonight the plan is to stay up after work and hit the first Wally World hunting ground at 6 am sharp and a second location shortly afterwards. Let's see how this plays out in real life...

Treasure Hunt And Super Treasure Hunt Explosion

I walked up on H and K cases being dumped today, scoring Treasures out of both cases and Supers out of the H case. I added to the collection in a big way, I might have bought 60+ cars today? The collection grows and a case of Black And Gold are on the way...

Thinking About A Case Buy - Black And Gold

Currently looking at a case of 24 Black and Gold 50th Anniversary cars, included is a Gold Chase Camaro, price seems to be the cheapest I have found and includes shipping. Coin toss later!

 

Zamac Chill Mill

This was an end-cap bin rescue, the card was bent and torn, so I grabbed it up not knowing it is a Wal Mart exclusive. My intensions were to take it apart for the chassis in order to modify an Altered Ego model. Upon doing research and discovery, I decided to keep it in this condition and to continue to look for a donor chassis.

 

 

 

 

Light Hunt Action

I went back to the huge pile and to be honest, not much of a dent has been inflicted, so I skimmed the first few layers, looking for the Fiat 500 Super T-Hunt with no luck as of yet. I passed up on lots of Standard Treasure Hunts in order to give other collectors a chance. I did buy a Barbie Vette Stingray, without noticing the "Barbie" script across the hood is messed up, so I have an "Error" car for trade if you are into those things...

Post Labor Day Breakfast Hunt - N Case Destruction

My number one hunt spot got in over 20 N cases, in an amazing caged pile no less. I shall post a pic later, I will be going back the next few days...

Labor Day Hunt Yields Collection Seeds

I went to a Wally world that is farther than most of the locations I usually hunt at, they had a huge inventory of cars in a 3 section dump bin, a few on pegs and an end cap display that was lightly populated. A few suspect cars missing from the case lots tells me someone hunts there.
I did find a few I liked to increase the collection, still no display cases at any locations and I am in need of 2 or 3...

Operation Bone Shaker - Update

I really only keep up with the Mainline and Mystery Models of the Hot Wheels collection, so sometimes I miss cars released in the Stars and Stripes series or the 50th Anniversary Models(Black Card). So imagine the look on my face when I discovered the Bone Shaker today in the 50th Anniversary series, the memory overload of where I was last at and the time before that looking at the first car on the pegs and not looking behind it, had I only known...
Well, I made the decision to hunt online and I used strict reason to make my purchase, only pay the standard retail and shipping is based on driving a full size pick up with V6 looking for this model in a 20 square mile radius.
It will be at my house on the 8th of September...

Breakfast Trail Of Treasure

I  decided to check out a local Kohl's, really bad selection and I hit the trail to my #2 hunt spot, still no new inventory. I had to stop back at home to handle a chore, then the idea to jet out to the #1 hunt locale to look for a Fiat 500 Super TH, no luck but 2 more standard Treasure Hunt's were sitting there waiting for a loving home. Grabbed those 2 and a few others to bump the collection, hunt complete...

The Alarm Clock Is Not Loud Enough

Work night to pay day means only 1 thing in these parts, hunt! I hit the #2 Wally World and was let down, but I can tell any day now that should change. My number 1 place was second today and open the flood gates! 5 Ratical Racer's from the N case!!!
Breakfast was after the hunt and tomorrow I shall be hunting again...

I hit up 2 Target stores today and one location had about 10 single pack cars and that was it. Nice display but nothing to hunt, both locations were on K case cars and trucks and real thin pickings. I did manage to score a couple more Series 3 Models and tomorrow is another hunt...

Breakfast Hunt Between Bouts Of Sleep

Working nights makes early morning hunts hard to do at times and to be honest some of my best scores have come after 8 a.m., however dawn raids are fun and exciting and breakfast is tasty. Today around 7 a.m. I encountered yet another hunter( 2 days in a row) at my #2 hunt spot and he was hunting the 3rd Series of Mystery Models. We both had different techniques and he had quite a few cars in his shopping cart already, but I did manage to find 2 El Camino's and a Bone Shaker specials, the Mystery Bone Shaker is pretty cool with red wheels and blue paint with the surf/beach theme.

Lunch Raid Yields L Case Treasure Hunts

A Post Office run took me right by my primary hunting grounds so I jammed back on the way home to see if the new display that was being built during my morning visit was complete and lucky for me it had been finished with minimal picking. I dug out 2 more Hollowback's and this will end hunts for me on this model. If you need one and have duplicate Treasure Hunt's you want to trade with, message me here. Breakfast Hunt Bust Or Go Home Like Big Dog No Donut

Got to my primary hunting spot only to find another hunter working fingers on the sideways dump bin, I hate those things. Apparently the 24th date was an eta as the Hot Wheels arrived on the 23rd and had been discovered by many fiends. After hunting for 30 min I did my shopping and dumped the stuff into the truck and returned for one more good look and found yet another Hollowback T-Hunt and I grabbed it for a trade later and boogied out. I did score some other cars and I will post those later...

I went back out to hunt Mystery Models and came up short so I decided to grab the 50th Anniversary models, one location I managed 5 models and thinking I might still get lucky at another location, I moved fast and got there in short time. Upon walking up to the pegboard I spied 2 more Hollowback T-Hunts and after some internal debate I decided to grab them as they have been there a while and nobody seemed to want them. I scored another 50th Anniversary car the first location did not have and a trick Custom VW Hauler. The collection grows...

Went to my other local supplier that is Wally World and scored 2 Treasure Hunt Hollowback's and an Ultimate Chase Bone Shaker! A "L" case or 3 must have been dumped for the masses to dig through and I lucked out...
