Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment Batmobile - AutoZone Score

Scored the Premium The Batman Batmobile today on a quick peg hunt near my home, Walgreens had 3 fantasy cars, Dollar Tree zero cars and Albertsons had a few I did not need plus 1 Tooned Volkswagen Golf (left behind due to circumstances regarding financial stability). AutoZone had a couple others from other Retro Entertainment releases, however the dark side of collecting is always near! The card is OK, the bubble has pokes from the rear end ramming it during shipping. I think every Premium version of all the Batmobiles are here under my roof. To the Batcave!

 This blog is nowhere near as read as Orange Track Diecast or anyone of the RLC forum threads for that matter, however it seems they like their Hot Wheels in Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine!

 Recently I was on YouTube and one of the many Hot Wheels influencer types was on and starting a live video so I joined in on the conversation in the chat and the person doing the live thing mentioned my name for my comment made, which was not negative in any way mind you and he immediately notes I have no videos and 2 followers. I was a bit shocked as this has never occurred to me before and it felt awkward in a way, so I bailed on the live thing and went about my evening. I don't know what I can offer for content on YouTube, my customs are not Diecast Resurrection or Jakarta Diecast Project level, so nobody is going to tune in for less than that. Hot Wheels do not sponsor me and cases are few and very far apart, so the unboxing thing is lamed up. I cannot offer the racing aspect like 3D Botmaker does, no way. I also do not get the sensitive intel needed to do scoops, another angle needed to gain viewers. 

Will I be making videos or not, what is this rant all about? I cannot answer these questions as I simply do not have the ability to do so. I know it sounds a bit vague and shallow, however that is my intention, the dark side of collecting is an abyss...

Hot Wheels RLC Real Riders Wheel Pack - Set 2

 

The next RLC sale will be the Real Riders Wheel Pack - Set 2, 5 sets of mediums and 1 set of smalls, Set 2 is geared more for the import cars in our collection and since most people do not customize their cars, good chance you can score a set or 5 of these trick Real Riders. I would have liked 2 sets of small wheels myself, possibly the next version of this style will be like that, however I digress. The sale is set for May 31'st at 9AM Hot Wheels time and you the RLC members are limited to 5 sets per account, $20USD per set.

Hot Wheels 2021 Legends Tour Car Culture Team Transport - Custom Corvette Stingray Coupe/Carry On

This Car Culture Team Transport is not the most popular and they are priced around retail last I looked. I got a couple laying about and even offered to trade one off to a collector on YouTube who said he still didn't have one and he was not really interested in it. The Custom Corvette Stingray Coupe is a cool casting and even the Walmart decos look sweet for a large corporate entity that has nothing to do with racing. The Carry On is a fantasy truck based on many and a little like some, is a heavy duty casting and fits the duo nicely. Snag one if you are missing it in the collection, not a Supreme combo, but it is out of the number sequence in the series.

Hot Wheels Volkswagen Karmann Ghia - First Edition

Since pegs here are slim to none with a chance of mostly empty, the dark side of collecting is a reality and when I come up short wanting a car, I go to eBay and pay the price. I love this casting and scoring this made my day, excellent condition and now I need to order protectors to preserve the awesomeness of this casting. This car debuted as a mainline in 2006 and is mostly found as a premium these days. Now I need loose version...

RLC Roller Coaster Ride - Score!

 

12 minute sellout time, however I was able to scored Ryu's Honda S2000 today after multiple attempts at checking out and a friend said she experienced the same ride. Makes me nervous as the ultra-scalpers must be working overtime at locking the system up in order to corner the market. Not today...

Hot Wheels RLC Honda S2000

 The long awaited sale of Ryu Asada's Honda S2000 is here, limited to 25k examples and this will be the car of the year. Scalpers are foaming at the mouth, collectors sweating palms already. Rocking back and forth in your computer chair will not help and you have to wait until Tuesday the 24th at 9AM Pacific time in order to even attempt at snagging one of these golden wonders.

My Mustang Cobra R arrived today seemingly intact and tampos on straight, card looks great and since none appear to have been numbered, nobody has an edge.

Hot Wheels Legends Tour '70 Mustang Boss 302

 

Only one way to get this '70 Mustang Boss 302 until they hit eBay and I am not too sure about this one myself, available at participating Walmarts during the Legends Tour is the fine print and it will be sought after by the collectors and scalpers alike. 

Prior to the pandemic when the Legends Tour hit the Walmart on the schedule, you would make a $20 purchase in store for a spin on the wheel located at the merch van. After the pandemic you would make a bundle purchase at Walmart's online Legends Tour page and buy it there. Now that the tour is back, you will need to check the schedule and possibly their website on those selected tour dates. eBay for the rest of us, have mercy on our souls...

Walgreens had 1 car, Dollar Tree none, Auto Zone a couple cars and 2 Tooned TV Series Batmobiles and Albertsons was 5 pegs and I took 2 Mercedes 500 E's. Albertsons had more mainlines than the rest combined and the average price was around $1.59 per car pre tax.

The Raijin Express and the Tooned '83 Chevy Silverado were hiding in the Kroger E case and the Tooned Silverado is very cool and I will need another on for a wheel swap. Come to think of it, both need wheels...

Hot Wheels Kroger 2022 Exclusives

Kroger exclusives all in one box x 2 each makes for a good score and the cards were mostly good and sharp. The Mclaren is my absolute favorite of this collection and stoked I got a couple, the Nissan is pretty trick too as is the Focus RS. The Dodge Dart is cool and all, I am just not big into the Art Cars, but I am not hating!

So, I have been looking for this whenever I found cars in stock and forever coming up short, feeling frisky I went the eBay route and the card has a wicked bend in it and that makes it a candidate to rip. The skateboard needs detail and the truck needs wheels! One of Ryu Asada's best designs and it seems everyone is a fan of the Kei truck design, myself included as I own 3 Kei trucks in real life. 

I will need to score another one to keep carded and hit up one of my suppliers for wheels to do a swap and I am so stoked to have scored one so far!

The Eagle Has Landed! - 1 Hour 30 Minutes To Spare

The Kroger case has landed! Inside I find 2 each of the Kroger exclusive color variations, Mclaren F1 GTR, Nissan Leaf Nismo RC_02, Ford Focus RS and Dodge Dart along with a Treasure Hunt Draftnator , the Tooned Batmobile, a Liberty Walk LB Super Silhouette Nissan Silvia, Toyota AE86 Trueno, Subaru WRX STI, Tooned Chevy Silverado, Bone Shaker and Big Air Bel Air. This is an E case assortment minus 1/2 the amount of cars at 36.

I haven't scored so many Mainlines in one shot in many months. No $TH, however all of the cars I listed I wanted and without scoring the case, eBay would have been the only way.

FedEx Fears Grow With Every Passing Minute - Kroger Case Delivery Mystery

 

Kroger case will not be delivered today, no matter what the guy at FedEx said in an effort to persuade me to go along with his Jedi mind tricks; "this is not the order you are looking for, your order will be delivered by a person in a FedEx truck". So the guy did say if it is not delivered today it would be scheduled for tomorrow then if it does not arrive by 8 PM, Wednesday would be the next scheduled day and should it not reach me by 8 PM I can expect them to schedule it for Thursday delivery. Can't make this stuff up...

Sweating FedEx Kroger Case Delivery - How Do You Worry?

 I waited all day for this as porch pirates + shoddy delivery practices by FedEx keep me on the ball when it comes to deliveries from them. Needless to say my wait was in vain and it was not to be, wait yet another sir!

Not marked out for delivery tells me the new delivery date will be Tuesday the 10th and good chance the box will have been picked through. The FedEx location where this sits is notorious for thefts and I have had cars stolen out of packages from that hub. How do you sweat the day?

Finally I have received my RLC '71 Datsun 510 Gulf and now I can relax until Sunday! If you got one of these nice versions of your favorite JDM car, do not forget to remove the rubber band! I use a toothpick to gently guide the nuisance forward and this time, it is wrapped in front of the axles!

Hot Wheels Olds 442 W-30 - Wheel Swap

This was released in 2019 as a Donk style car and when I seen it, it screamed put some meats on me! Scored these wheels from Glacer Toy House on eBay and used the awesome wheel spacers from MMR. I love this casting and it sits on my mantle in a display.
