Diecast Racing - Is It The Next Big Thing?

Most Hot Wheels collectors have orange track somewhere and some have tracks they keep up for those indoor days or nights. Then there are the "big time" tracks, ones you might see on YouTube, made for diecast racing at the extreme level. Now you might ask yourself, "extreme"? However, there is an online organization dedicated to diecast racing, with independently owned tracks worldwide. There is one racing league that may have started this offshoot of diecast collecting, the 3DBotMaker channel on YouTube. They, being 3D and 2D, are great at announcing the races with humor and oftentimes elaborate backstories. The tracks and layouts are freaking cool AF and filled with sponsor signs and spectator parking. A lot of time, effort and money go into some of these tracks, Slanman Customs makes trick track pieces many of the tracks use, along with other components that lend a high tech feel to the races. Say goodbye to your Hot Wheels drop flag finish line, we got digital now folks.

While 3DBotMaker handles their own race signups, Redline Derby Racing(link below) has a calendar of upcoming races, track directory and helpful tips on getting into diecast racing. One thing you notice when watching these races on YouTube, the racers and yes there is a tight knit community of highly dedicated racers like Fractal Panda, Feral Patrick, Papa Pugsley, R-Lo, Uncle Elvis, Numbskull and Lily the Dog just to name a few. The tracks also have personality, with some channels doing multiple race formats, so while NASCARS might not be your thing, JDM races also happen, so everyone who likes racing in real life can giggle at the diecast versions. Rules vary from track to track and per class structure, weights are compared between racers and the track scale. Lubricants are like the rules, not every track will be the same. 

Redline Derby Racing even provides entry forms to keep things square and on the same page for the track owners, very classy stuff.

I have been watching 3DBotMaker for a couple of years now and always wanted to send a car in, but they can be stacked for a year or more, then I found Redline Derby Racing and discovered, this is possible. FedEx notified me of a delivery that was scheduled to be delivered on 04/21 from the first day the package was given a delivery date ETA and marked "early" as if it is getting to me sooner than expected. So then it changes today, to a 04/24 delivery date and is now marked "on time"... 

FedEx delivers on Saturday and Sunday in this area, it is sitting at the distribution location for my area and now they mark it for a Monday delivery? Ass clowns...
