On Thursday December 7th, Series 7 of the Hot Wheels NFT Virtual Collection will go up for sale and like most drops, things have changed up a bit, again. A Standard Pack is $25USD and comes with 7 virtual cars with a possible chance of scoring a redeemable, while the Premium Pack(same amount of cars) is $80USD and you get 1 redeemable virtual collectible and the only way possible to get a ZAMAC '64 GMC Panel. Custom Bone Shaker - Radical Radial

 I have a radial airplane engine scaled to fit a Hot Wheels car and the stock base needed to be longer and if all goes well, the Mod Rod base will work out well. Here it is trimmed up and fastened together with screws and with minor work, the skull will fit the front. Next the STL file goes to a friend for a test print in PLA and if that comes out nice, I will get it made in steel like the roof with the wing I did a few months ago. While I wait on the radial engine, the interior will get fit for duty

FedEx Delivery Update - My Luck Defined

My long awaited FedEx delivery arrived and the tape was not even attached to both sides of the box... I know they don't handle the packing, so I was lucky just to even get the box, never mind the contents! Both boxes of Real Riders were in there and with that I will do a proper editorial on those, with a car or two getting the treatment...

 

No Holds Barred - FedEx Straight Up Is One Jacked Up Operation...

 

Is this day 3 or 4 of "out for delivery"? Does it really matter once you go past day 2 of "attempts" to deliver with no positive outcome? FedEx has issues that are beyond all explanation and Mattel once said they were ditching FedEx, instead they doubled down with using them for shipping, eliminating USPS. The number of my Mattel buys that have gone awry has skyrocketed. It makes no sense, yet here I sit...

*So after looking at the travel history, this will be the 3rd time marked "on the truck for delivery", Tuesday was the original delivery date, yet this package like the last one, went to Los Angeles, 90 miles west of my location, then Wednesday it was in Bloomington, the hub that handles my deliveries. FedEx is straight F-ed up beyond all repair.

 Almost every FedEx delivery has a drama thread hanging, waiting to be pulled and here it is, already delayed and now in limbo... I have nothing going on for Thanksgiving and was going to do some cars already drilled. I have a feeling I will probably get refunded on this order... Without bad luck, I would be lucky most of the time...

 I have had these wheels for a minute or three, then the 9 pack this Porsche 356 Outlaw was sitting in came into view and after a rough drill session the wheels were on. Kind of... I still need to sand the front of the base where the wheels sit, on the outside to give them just a tad bit more clearance to spin freely. I do not know how I f-ed up the front post in the drilling out process, however what is done is done. The end...

   This delivery falls into the .7% category and I am lucky they packed it in a stout box roughly the same size as the product box, so it wasn't bouncing about loose in a larger box. My favorite driver who actually takes pride in his work and greets me by name, brought it to me and he did not have to apologize for the shape it was in.

 Axles are getting love, I tapped the rear post, next will be the front and then as soon as the date and rules are announced, I will finish it and mail it off. The Baja Bouncer will be the required entry for next year's Gravity Throttle Racing truck tournament. I am looking forward to racing this truck!

FedEx - Hired By Mattel... Hated By Collectors

 I have inbound FedEx that had a delivery date of this Monday past and now it seems FedEx figured out they were 80 miles off course in a western direction and have brought my package back into the area where I reside. 99.3% of all these packages that take an extended trip, arrive to me near mutilated or pre-opened for "my enjoyment". This is a 2 car Delorean set I have waited 1 year to get, FedEx f-in sucks...

I saw this on eBay a couple of weeks ago, it was left alone and then relisted... Somebody paid $25 + another $5.85 on shipping for a T-Hunt and regular mainline Datsun 510 Wagon...

I still have yet to find a normal one at retail, I most certainly will not be buying one for $25 + shipping, even if it comes with a free T-Hunt! Ouch!

 Albertsons had just stocked and I wandered in to find one very shiny Glory Chaser Super Treasure Hunt and a few others I wanted. No regular T-Hunt and a few others I expected to see, just were not there. I took what I wanted and left the rest!

I saw Mattel Creations was doing a 60% off sale and Real Riders for street cars, $8USD, hells yes give me one of those and one of them...

That translates into slightly more than $3USD shipped, each set(per car) of wheels cost me and that is hella good savings in a time of rabid inflation.

The Volkswagen Caddy Came To Race!

 Where do I start? It has been a very sharp learning curve, swimming with the sharks you have to adapt and survive in order to win. I won't be moving on to the big show, however I did not get smoked trying. I had 2 heats in this LCQ and the first heat I did the business in style, winning the first 2 races and finishing 2nd in the third. 

The next heat put me in with D Man from Beaverworx Racing and Speedball Herman from Gravity Throttle Racing and the first race was a dreaded DNF...

I would DNF in the first race, win the second race and get a 2nd place in the third. The single DNF took all hope away and I would have needed Speedball Herman to DNF in order to have a slight chance, only slight...

And this is how it finished in the end... A 2nd place in the LCQ will not make the cut, I was not blown out and I went down fighting. Getting beat by some of the biggest names in diecast racing is prestige unto itself and no better way to learn...

First race of the year is looking like a drag race for all stock entries, no mods, no drilled out cars, lube of any kind! The Black Garage has committed to fielding 2 cars for this event running on March 23'rd and this week the process begins to find suitable stockers...

MCM Minitruck Madness LCQ 2 On The Horizon - My Thoughts As A Rookie Car Builder

   

LCQ1is done! A few fast guys were in the first LCQ and JA Almighty moves on, the Black Garage Volkswagen Caddy will be in the second LCQ and I feel good on paper as I qualified faster than most if not all of the trucks in this mix. If I make the next 2 LCQ heats, I will move on. I am happy with the truck build and moving on is possible, I just need to roll faster than the other guys...

This truck is near the weight limit, has fixed and polished axles with graphite, wheels scrubbed in, wheel wells ground to eliminate interference under g's. It was the best build so far in terms of applying all of the aspects necessary to compete with a modified car. I am ready for the next LCQ!
